Wolfenstein goes co-op in the forthcoming shooter, Youngblood. Here's the new trailer…

Bethesda has released a brand new trailer for Wolfenstein: Youngblood, a spinoff of sorts that is primarily meant to be played as a co-op shooter.

The game, which was announced at E3 last year, will let you play as BJ Blazkowicz’s daughters as they shoot their way through an alternate version of 1980s Paris.

Youngblood is being developed by the folks at Machine Games (who have been responsible for the modern Wolfenstein games we’ve enjoyed thus far) and that you’ll be able to play it by yourself in some form if you aren’t able to find a friend to stick with you until the end.

Here’s the brand new, story-focused trailer for Wolfenstein: Youngblood

And here’s the E3 announcement trailer that preceded it…

The new trailer comes with the following synopsis:

“Welcome to the 1980s. BJ Blazkowicz is missing. His last-known whereabouts: Nazi-occupied Paris. The only ones who can find him are his twin daughters, Jess and Soph Blazkowicz—and no Nazi scum are gonna stand in their way.

“Liberate Paris from the Nazi threat as you search for your father in the first open-ended co-op adventure in the series, either with a friend or an AI companion.”

This new trailer also confirms that Wolfenstein: Youngblood will launch on 26 July 2019 for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

There is also a VR title in the works called Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot, where you’ll play a hacker who is trying to turn the Nazis’ own machinery against them.  Even though we’d love to hear something about the next mainline Wolfenstein game, these two projects should be fun deviations from the norm.

We’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
