A new trailer for The Man In The High Castle season 4 has appeared, with Amazon announcing it will be the last.

Amazon Studios renewed The Man In The High Castle for season 4 last year before season 3 had even started streaming, which was surprising news at the time, as season 3 had taken sooooo looooong to arrive.

Now, as filming is finishing up on season 4, Amazon has confirmed that this will be the end. Boo.

It seems that the series won’t be left with dangling threads of any cliffhangers, though, as Amazon appears to have planned the story to wrap up inside four seasons.

“It has been a great privilege to work alongside our extraordinary High Castle team, in partnership with David Zucker and Scott Free, to bring my father’s classic novel to life, particularly during this tumultuous period in our real world,” EP Isa Dick Hackett said in a statement. “I believe fans will be thrilled and satisfied by the epic conclusion we have in store for them. I am very grateful for the ongoing support from Amazon as we produce this final season, and look forward to building on this extremely successful partnership. Stay tuned; there’s more to come!”

Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios added “We are incredibly proud of all of the hard work from the massively talented executive producers, cast, crew and everyone who has worked on The Man In The High Castle over the years. With production ongoing on our fourth and final season, we can’t wait for fans to see how this final chapter in the story unfolds. The Man In The High Castle helped define Amazon Prime Video in the genre space, and we are grateful and excited that we’ll continue to be in business with Isa and Electric Shepherd Productions for future Philip K. Dick adaptations.”

The Man In The High Castle is a slow burn series that tries to visualise the concept of Dick’s complex alternate history book – “what if we’d lost WWII?”, basically – and season 3 reunited a cast that features Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Rufus Sewell, Alexa Davalos, Rupert Evans, Luke Kleintank and DJ Qualls.

Season 4 will land on Amazon Prime Video UK later in the year. In the meantime, clap your eyes on this brand new trailer for the fourth and final (weep) season:
