The following contains light spoilers for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is an absolute miracle of a movie. Not only does it have a beautiful appreciation for its central characters and their comic book medium origins, but also it has a perfect child-like appreciation of play.
Those who sat through the credits know what we’re talking about. Patient viewers were treated to a cut from the Miles Morales’ universe’s Peter Parker Spider-Man’s Christmas album. The track, “Spidey-Bells (A Hero’s Lament)” is sung with great aplomb and enthusiasm by that Spidey’s voice actor…AGAIN SPOILER ALERT. I REPEAT. SPOILER ALERT…Chris Pine and it’s just absolutely wonderful.
Now Sony is expanding greatly on that fun little Easter-Egg and giving us an entire EP of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Christmas tunes, according to Film Music Reporter.
Sony Classical and Sony Pictures Animation will be releasing A Very Spidey Christmas digitally on December 21.
The five-song EP will give the other Spider-Men an opportunity to get involved in the Christmas carol fun. Peter B. Parker (Jake Johnson) will sing as will Miles Morales himself, Shameik Moore. Here is a full track list.
1. Joy to the World – Shameik Moore (1:40)
2. Spidey-Bells (A Hero’s Lament) – Chris Pine (2:41)
3. Deck the Halls – Jake Johnson (2:05)
4. Up on the House Top – Chris Pine (1:45)
5. The Night Before Christmas 1967 (Spoken Word) – Jorma Taccone (2:45)
