Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, sharp suits and crazy cars…

The first trailer is here for Men In Black: International and it looks like a sci-fi/action blast.

Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth star in the franchise reboot as agents M and H secretly protecting the world from alien activity on earth. Hemsworth appears to be an existing MIB agent, working alongside Liam Neeson, while Thompson is a new recruit who has to charm Emma Thompson’s Agent O (who returns to the role from MIB 3).

This latest instalment is a spin-off from the previous three MIB movies and Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones aren’t expected to appear, though there is a cheeky reference to them in this trailer by way of a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it painting which depicts the two.

The director is F Gary Gray who made The Fate Of The Furious (aka Fast And Furious 8) and Straight Outta Compton, and it looks from the trailer that he’ll be bringing some ace action set pieces as well as a banging soundtrack to the series.

The plot details available indicate that this time around the agents come up against a mole within the Men In Black organisation, threatening the agency’s anonymity and the safety of the planet, and sending the team on an international mission (I mean, you’d hope…). Kumail Nanjiani, Rebecca Ferguson and Rafe Spall will also star.

Men in Black International opens in UK cinemas on 14 June 2019.
