Shane Black's The Predator is now heading for its home release here in the UK…

When director Shane Black announced that he was returning to the Predator franchise after a string of arguably brilliant movies in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Nice Guys and Iron Man 3 (hey, some of us love it, alright?) we got stupidly excited about the news. What could possibly go wrong?

Shortly, things started to seem less than encouraging – on-set carnage, release dates coming and going, a convicted sex offender getting cut from scenes only after the film’s star spoke up about it, reshoots to change the entire third act …not good. Then, the movie finally came out and the reviews started to pour in, and we wondered ‘what went wrong?’ That might be a story that emerges slowly over time, but we’d really like to know.

If you missed the film in the cinema, or ended up enjoying it a lot more than you thought, and want to get hold of a copy to watch at home, early 2019 will bring you the chance. The Predator will be available via digital on 11th January and it’ll be out on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on 28th January, along with a Predator 4-Movie collection pack, if you think it’s time for a full upgrade!

Zavvi also has an exclusive steelbook. Wanna have a look at the front cover? Tch, go on then…
