Titans season 2 is coming. The first season will premiere on the DC Universe streaming service on October 12th, and hit Netflix UK soon afterwards. The 10 episode season is going to introduce a ton of new DC heroes and villains (including the Doom Patrol, who will then spin off into their own series) over the course of its run. But that’s only the start.
At New York Comic Con, Titans executive producer Geoff Johns confirmed that Titans season 2 is a go. Not only that, they’ve already planned out the entire arc of the second season. And furthermore, they’ve already mapped out which new characters will appear.
Considering that the first season starts us off with Robin, Raven, Beast Boy, Hawk, and Dove, and we’ve been promised the Doom Patrol, Jason Todd, Donna Troy, and Superboy, it’s pretty clear that we’ll have a significantly larger team at the start of Titans season 2. And from Johns’ comments, it sounds like the team will only grow from there.
He also made a cryptic remark that Marv Wolfman (the legendary New Teen Titans writer, who was in the audience) would be very happy with the plans for Titans season 2. That leads me to believe that they might go with loose adaptations of stories like “Who is Donna Troy?” or the absolutely essential “The Judas Contract.” None of that has been confirmed, of course.
There’s no release date set for Titans season 2, but with any luck it will arrive in late 2019.
