Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are back together (sort of) in the new British comedy horror, Slaughterhouse Rulez.
Pegg stars alongside Michael Sheen as the teachers at a boarding school placed precariously close to a sinkhole from Hell – with Asa Butterfield and Hermione Corfield heading the cast of sixth-formers who have to fight off the monsters that crawl out.
Frost appears to be a weird-looking local drug dealer who almost certainly won’t survive until the end. They might not both be leading the film, but this is the first time Pegg and Frost have worked together since they did voices in 2014’s The Boxtrolls.
Slaughterhouse Rulez is directed by Crispian Mills who worked with Pegg on his debut, A Fantastic Fear Of Everything (although he’s still probably best known for being Hayley Mills’ son, John Mills’ grandson and the frontman for ’90s psychedelic indie band, Kula Shaker).
With vibes of everything from Attack The Block, St Trinian’s and Hammer Horror, it’s hard to work out exactly what to expect besides Pegg killing monsters with a blood-soaked cricket bat again – which is perfectly fine with us.
Slaughterhouse Rulez opens on Halloween.
