The President of America has been kicked off the Walk Of Fame

The star of Home Alone 2: Lost In New York has officially lost his place on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. Since Donald Trump took office, his star (at the nicer end of Hollywood Boulevard) has been repeatedly vandalised and twice completely destroyed.

When it was first laid, someone built a tiny fence around it in protest of Trump’s plan to wall in Mexico, and someone else tried to dig out the brass plaque so he could auction it off in support of the women who had accused the President of sexual misconduct. Only two weeks ago, another unnamed local hid a pickaxe in a guitar case, waited until 2am, and smashed the whole thing to pieces.

Today, the West Hollywood City Council decided that they were fed up replacing the thing, and they voted unanimously to remove the star from the Walk Of Fame completely.

Quick to respond on Twitter (presumably before the President himself wades in), Mark Hamill had a pretty good suggestion for a name to fill the space:

Weirdly, whilst “Disneyland”, Big Bird and The Rugrats have a star on the Walk Of Fame, Fisher doesn’t have one and neither does Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Spike Lee, Robert DeNiro or Will Smith. But at least Donald Trump doesn’t have one now either.
