Finally!

With The Man in the High Castle season 3 overdue for its return (and, oddly enough, already renewed for season 4), fans have been anxious to see if the Amazon original series will return soon to explore more of what a 1960 society under Nazi and Japanese occupation looks like. As John Smith rises in the ranks of the Reich and the resistance fighters reorganise, the stage is set for a tense political situation in occupied America.

We now have our first trailer for season 3…

The Man in the High Castle season 3 release date

The Man in the High Castle is coming back this year! The show confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con 2018 that the release date will be October 5, 2018.

The Man in the High Castle season 3 story

Per reports from Comic-Con, it sounds like The Man in the High Castle is going even more overtly sci-fi in season 3. The Greater Reich will discover anomalies in time in space next season that lead to alternate universes. Like universes in which the Third Reich did not win World War II (seems familiar). We’ll provide more plot information as it’s available.

The Man in the High Castle season 3 cast

John Hans Tester (Royal Pains) signed on for a recurring role as Dr. Josef Mengele, “a famous Nazi physician and Nobel Prize winner living in Berlin conducting his research,” according to Deadline.

Jason O’Mara will be joining the cast of The Man in the High Castle season 3, straight off his departure from Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Coming on as a new series regular leading role, O’Mara’s character, will be Wyatt Price, whose Irish family fled Europe to New York as the Nazis began to dominate. He has survived in the Nuetral Zone as a hustling black marketeer but is a big believer in what America was before the war.

One of the biggest bits of casting news for season 3 was the promotion of Michael Gaston from a recurring role to a series regular. The actor plays Mark Sampson, a hardware store owner who often befriends Frank, and fellow underground worshiper of the Jewish faith.

The Man in the High Castle season 3 showrunner

After exec producer Frank Spotnitz’s sudden departure midway through the production of The Man in the High Castle season 2, Amazon had to reach out to find a replacement showrunner. Eric Overmyer, who executive produced Amazon’s popular drama series Bosch, took over as showrunner for season 3. Amazon completed the production of season two without a true showrunner after the departure of Spotnitz, but the remaining episodes were left in the hands of the original production staff.
