Disney has earmarked another date for a Marvel movie in its calendar – and already the betting is on Black Panther 2…

A few dates have shuffled around in the Marvel cinematic universe over the past 24 hours, with Disney confirming that it will be releasing a new Marvel movie on February 12th 2021.

As is the modern way, the dates tend to be staked out in advance before we find out just what movie is going to fill them. But the smart money for this one appears to be on Black Panther 2.

There’s nothing concrete to back that up, we should note. Just clues. It’s around the same time of year when the original movie was released, and would leave a three year gap between the first film and its sequel. Given that the character has also been appearing in Avengers movies in the interim, that feels about right.

Disney, separately, has yanked dates it’d reserved for films on November 8th 2019, February 21st 2021 and July 9th 2021 from its schedules.

More as we hear it…
