With Lucasfilm and Disney now reportedly retooling their plans for Star Wars spin-off movies, a fresh rumour suggests that on top of planned Obi-Wan Kenobi and Boba Fett films, that a Mos Eisley project was also in development.
Making Star Wars cites that it talked to sources at Pinewood Studios, where the Star Wars films have been based, and that a Mos Eisley spin-off was on the roster. This would be based, of course, on the spaceport from the original Star Wars movie, A New Hope.
The project looks to have been cancelled, or at the very least postponed, in the light of Solo: A Star Wars Story’s box office. That said, given that it was a rumoured project, there’s a chance it never progressed that far in the first place.
Next up for the Star Wars universe is Episode IX, that JJ Abrams is directing. After that? We wait and see…
