Chucky is going hi-tech for a new big screen reboot of Child's Play…

The Chucky films have been in fine form of late, with the latest – 2017’s Cult Of Chucky – a strong entry in the series. There’s been talk too of a television series based around the movies, and now we learn that MGM is looking at doing a full movie reboot as well.

The producers of the recent It movie, David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith, are looking to oversee the new Child’s Play. What’s more, it sounds as though this project is moving relatively quickly. The plan is to start filming this coming September.

Lars Klevberg has been hired to direct the new movie, with Tyler Burton Smith penning the screenplay. The idea will be a modern day reboot that follows a group of kids and the Chucky doll. It’s set to be a more technologically advanced doll at that.

No casting has thus far been confirmed. As we hear more, we’ll let you know.
