Get a console and one game, from £290

Or if one game would be enough to get you started, GAME also has some offers for that sort of thing: the Switch with Pokken Tournament would cost you £290, as would the Switch with LEGO Worlds, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 or Rocket League. Or, if you’d rather have a bigger name game, you could buy the Switch with Zelda, MarioKart or Super Mario Odyssey for a cost of £310.

But the console on its own for £259.99

If you just want to buy the console on its own and sort the games out yourself, the place to look at the moment is Zavvi, where the Switch is currently on offer at £259.99. You’d be looking at spending an extra twenty quid for the same thing at Amazon, GAME or Currys.

Get a free gift when you buy a game

As for buying individual Nintendo Switch games, the official Nintendo store is running a fun little deal right now to try and tempt you: if you buy any Switch game from a rather long list of options, you get to choose a free gift. The gifts available include a 3D keychain in the shape of Mario’s hat, a black and gold MarioKart T-shirt, a Splatoon 2 notebook, a play stand, a game card case, a protective screen filter, a NES keychain and a Union Aerospace DOOM T-shirt.
