The story of the already-infamous Hatton Garden diamond robbery, one of the biggest of its kind ever in the UK, is heading to the movies. It’s also going to be a TV show as well, but the film version will be with us first.
Sir Michael Caine is leading the cast of King Of Thieves, then, a movie that also stars Jim Broadbent, Tom Courtenay, Charlie Cox, Michael Gambon and Ray Winstone. In truth, that’s the kind of cast most of us would have imagined when the project was first mooted.
James Marsh (Man On Wire, The Theory Of Everything) is directing this one, from a screenplay by Joe Penhall. And the film itself arrives in cinemas on Septmeber 14th.
The first trailer for it has just been released too, and here’s a taste of what’s in store…
More on the movie as we hear it…
