A bit of surprising news emerged over the weekend. It seems that Amazon Studios has renewed The Man In The High Castle for season 4. This is surprising for a couple of reasons, as the company hasn’t offered any official confirmation on this yet, and we’re still waiting on season 3.
Nonetheless, Spoiler TV has dished up some production info for season 4, via Production Weekly – filming is set to get underway in September, and finish in February, 2019.
It’s been a long road for Amazon’s continuing adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s classic novel, which has a secretive and often lengthy release process. Season 2 aired all the way back in December of 2016, and we’ve heard barely a peep of season 3’s arrival, bar Amazon’s insistence that it’ll arrive this year. Hopefully, a fourth season moving forward means that we can expect a trailer and air date for the third season soon. It’d be nice, anyway!
The Man In The High Castle is a slow burn series that tries to visualise the concept of Dick’s complex alternate history book – “what if we’d lost WWII?”, basically – and season 3 will reunite a cast that features Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (Revenge), Rufus Sewell (Dark City), Alexa Davalos (Mob City), Rupert Evans (American Pastoral), Luke Kleintank (Pretty Little Liars) and DJ Qualls (Supernatural).
We’ll bring you more on this as Amazon unveils its plans for future of the series. Until then, all we have is this sneak peek from season 3, released last October…
