Writer and director David Ayer is a busy man. He’s been working on a follow-up to last year’s big budget Netflix effort, Bright, for a start. Then there’s his involvement with Gotham City Sirens, a DC film that looks like it’s hit the buffers. And now there’s a new indie thriller on his docket, that sees him go back to the style of film – End Of Watch and Training Day – that really put him on the map in the first place.
Ayer is set to direct Tax Collector then, and he’s recruited Shia LaBeouf (who he worked with on Fury) and Bobby Soto to star in the film.
It’s going to be Ayer’s next project too, with his plan being to shoot the film this summer. That suggests that we’re going to have to wait longer than expected for Bright 2, that’s expected to see Will Smith return.
There’s no release date for Tax Collector as of yet, but as we hear more, we’ll let you know…
