Katherine Kelly (Coronation Street, The Night Manager) and Molly Windsor (Three Girls) are set to lead ITV’s new psychological thriller show, Cheat, it’s been announced.
The four-part miniseries will start filming this month in Hampshire and Hertfordshire, with newbie screenwriter Gaby Hull penning all of the episodes.
Here’s the official synopsis from ITV…
At the heart of the drama is the dangerous relationship between university professor Leah (Katherine Kelly), and her student Rose (Molly Windsor), when, what begins as a seemingly open and shut case of academic deception, quickly spirals out of control, ending in fatal consequences, and triggering a devastating sequence of events that threaten to engulf them both. With two fiercely intelligent minds unwilling to back down, Cheat will keep audiences guessing from the start, exploring just how far we’re prepared to stand up for what we believe, and at what cost.
Filling out the rest of the Cheat cast are Tom Goodman-Hill (Humans) as Leah’s university professor boyfriend James, Lorraine Ashbourne (Silent Witness) and Peter Firth (Spooks, Victoria) as her parents Angela and Michael, and Adrian Edmondson (Bancroft, Retribution) as Rose’s father, William.
The series is being produced by Lydia Hampson (Fleabag) and Christopher Aird (Clique, Call The Midwife). Louise Hooper (Lucky Man) has been selected to direct the entire shebang.
