After speculation that had seen Paul Rudd head to the top of the casting pile, it turns out that James Marsden has in fact been chosen as the actor to star in the upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog film.
Paramount is backing the project, which of course is based on the Sega videogames. It’ll be a hybrid of live action and CG, with Marsden taking on the role of a cop who befriends Sonic. The pair then go on a mission to try and bring down the dastardly Robotnik.
The film is being penned by Oren Uziel, Josh Miller and Patrick Casey. Furthermore, Jeff Fowler is directing the movie (his directorial debut), with Neil H Moritz producing.
A release date of November 15th 2019 has been set as well. As we find out more, we’ll let you know…
