Vin Diesel will soon field another prospective film franchise, called Muscle, serving as its star and producer.

With Fast & Furious 9 not due to start filming until next year – thanks to the Statham/Dwayne Johnson spin-off movie taking precedence – Vin Diesel has time to fit in another project or two. He’s set to shoot xXx 4, likely at the end of this year, and he’s making Bloodshot for Sony over the summer as well.

But also, he’s signed up for a new comedy by the name of Muscle.

It’s an action-comedy, to be more precise, that STX Films is backing. And the aim is to make this Diesel’s “next big signature franchise”.

Muscle has its producers in place. Diesel himself is listed as one of them, alongside Samantha Vincent, Reginald Hudlin and Byron Phillips. There’s no director on board yet that we know of, nor has it been announced when filming will actually begin. It won’t be Diesel’s next project, that much seems clear.

As we hear more on the movie, we’ll let you know…
