We’ve been hearing whispers about this for a good couple of months now, but now it’s official: Aardman is pressing ahead with a sequel to its first full-length feature film, Chicken Run.
ParaNorman and Flushed Away co-director Sam Fell will be helming the project – Peter Lord and Nick Park co-directed the first film – whilst the screenplay is being put together by the original writers of Chicken Run, Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Farrell.
Peter Lord and David Sproxton are producing the movie. It’s unclear whether the studio will re-hire Mel Gibson to voice the role of Rocky the Rooster.
As we understand it, Chicken Run 2 is likely to be the next Aardman stop motion project to go into production, once work on the Shaun the Sheep sequel has been completed.
