The planned reboot of horror franchise The Grudge is pressing ahead at Ghost House Pictures, and we’ve got news now on who will be writing and directing it.

Nicolas Pesce, best known for The Eyes Of My Mother, is set to rewrite the existing script and take on directing duties. His job will be to bring fresh life to a franchise that’s seen three English language films so far, following the successful Japanese originals.

It’s expected that a new cast will be recruited this time too, and that Sarah Michelle Gellar won’t be back.

There’s no word yet on just when we can expect the new The Grudge. It’s a fair bet that all concerned will want to get it moving fairly quickly, though.
