Disney's Frozen sequel isn't due until 2019 – but the recording work is about to begin in earnest…

It’s taken its time, but Disney is finally pressing ahead with Frozen 2 in earnest. The sequel to the 2013 juggernaut has a release date in place of November 27th 2019, and directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck are returning for the movie.

Furthermore, so is the bulk of the voice cast from the first film, specifically including Kristen Bell, Josh Gad, Idina Menzel and Jonathan Groff. And it’s the latter who, in conversation with Entertainment Weekly, has revealed that the voice recording work on the new movie is about to begin.

“I think I just got an email yesterday where I’m about to go into the recording studio in a couple of weeks, or maybe a month?”, Groff said. “They’re about to really get into the thick of recording it, which I’m excited about. I don’t know anything about it yet other than I’m about to start recording my section of it”.

Disney, understandably, hasn’t released any plot details or detailed information just yet. As we hear more, we’ll let you know…
