John Wick is back! And this time he’s taking on…well, everyone.
The first trailer for John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum has arrived and, as expected, it promises an action-stuffed third outing for Keanu Reeves’ titular assassin.
This time, the world is literally out to get him, as hitmen and women everywhere compete to kill Wick and collect the bounty reluctantly placed on his head by Continental Hotel owner Winston (Ian McShane) at the end of Chapter 2.
The film’s subtitle rather aptly means “prepare for war” in Latin, which should give you some idea of what to expect from Chapter 3. Namely guns, lots of guns. And knives. And swords… You can watch the trailer below.
Prepare for war, indeed. Looks like John will have his work cut out for him this time. Luckily, he also has a partner of sorts in Halle Barry’s Sofia – a kickass assassin and fellow dog-lover who seems like a handy friend to have when everyone else is out to kill you.
The trailer also gives us glimpses of Anjelica Huston’s mysterious (and heavily accented) Director and some thrilling set-pieces, including a horse-bound Wick taking on a horde of bike-riding killers. Is his survival really an impossible dream? We’ll find out when John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum opens in UK cinemas on 17 May 2019.
