Fast & Furious 9 won't have both Dwayne Johnson and Tyrese in it…

Yikes. The simmering unrest behind the scenes of the Fast & Furious family continues, with the news that Tyrese Gibson is set to quit the next film if Dwayne Johnson appears in it.

Gibson has been unhappy with what he sees as Johnson’s growing influence over the Fast & Furious movies, and in particular the spin-off movie that Johnson and Jason Statham will be starring in come summer 2019. That spin-off has pushed Fast & Furious 9 back to the summer of 2020, and Tyrese hasn’t hid his unhappiness at this.

Which has all built up to his latest social media post, that includes the ultimatum that if Johnson does come back for Fast & Furious 9, Tyrese’s character, Roman Peirce, won’t.

Here’s the post…

It all moves the proverbial ball into Universal Pictures’ court. Does it keep Johnson separate and in the spin-offs, or does it unsettle the Fast & Furious family by keeping the character of Hobbs in the main line of movies too? We wait and see…
