If you played Fallout 76 in 2018, you can now get three classic games for free…

It’s something of an understatement to say that Fallout 76 had a troubled launch, but Bethesda continues to try its best to get fans back on its side. The latest perk the company has announced is that everyone who logged into the full release of Fallout 76 during 2018, regardless of what console or computer they used, is now eligible to get the Fallout Classic Collection bundle for free on PC.

It doesn’t seem very likely that this move will wipe all of Fallout 76‘s negative press – which spanned everything from unenthusiastic reviews to personal data leaks – from the fans’ memories, but it is a nice gesture nonetheless. And, as an added bonus, it’s really not that difficult for players to claim their free stuff.

To nab your free access to the original Fallout, Fallout Tactics and Fallout 2 – all of which are included in the Fallout Classic Collection bundle – all you need to do is download the Bethesda Launcher (it’s linked to at the bottom of Bethesda.net’s homepage) on your PC and log in with your usual Bethesda.net credentials. You’ll then be able to nab these three games free of charge from the menu.

Bethesda originally announced this idea last year, billing it as a holiday treat…

Of course, the actual deployment of this perk has come a little later than the festive season, but who doesn’t want a few free games during the cash-strapped, post-Chrimbo lull that is January?

Looking ahead, Bethesda’s next major release is Rage 2, which is due for release on May 14th 2019. Fingers remain crossed for a more positive experience, which would lessen the need for apologies and extra perks…
