Already attracting strong reviews following its debut at the Sundance Film Festival at the start of the year is the terrific Patti Cake$. And we’re giving Den Of Geek readers in the London area this Thursday a chance to see it ahead of its UK release. In a posh London screening room, too.

A bit about the film.

Newcomer Danielle Macdonald stars as aspiring rapper Patricia Dombrowski, a.k.a. Killa P a.k.a. Patti Cake$ in the first feature film from acclaimed commercial and music video director Geremy Jasper. Set in gritty strip-mall suburbia, Patti Cake$ chronicles an underdog’s quest for fame and glory with humour, raw energy and unforgettable beats. It also stars Bridget Everett, Siddharth Dhananjay and Mamoudou Athie.

Patti Cake$ arrives in UK cinemas in on 1st September 2017 following its UK premiere at the closing night of Film4 Summer Screen at Somerset House on August 23rd.

Here’s the trailer for the film, and details of how you can get yourself a seat are below…

Right then.

The date for the screening is Thursday 24th August, with a 6 for 6.30pm start. The nearest tube station to the screening room will be Oxford Circus or Tottenham Court Road. We’ve not measured the distance, though. If you are successful in getting seats, we’ll send you the full details.

Here’s the important bit: We don’t charge for these screenings, but please do not treat this as a competition. Please apply for a seat only if you can use it. We will try and accommodate requests for more than one seat, but please understand we expect this to fill up very quickly!

If we’ve not managed to put you off, then need to head to Twitter to apply for a seat (let us know if you need more, but please be aware we’re expecting this screening to be full!). Send a Tweet that reads:

Please can I have a seat/2 seats for #PattiCakes @denofgeek #PattiCakesGeek

We will start getting in touch with people on Tuesday to allocate seats – so make sure you check your Twitter direct messages! Note that you need to be following us, or we can’t get in touch. Please note: you need to be at least 15 years old.

Thank you!
