We’ve had a couple of Nick Fury-less Marvel films of late, as the architect of The Avengers has been taking a bit of a back seat on the big screen. But Nick Fury still has work to do, and it’s now been reported that Samuel L Jackson will be added to the cast of the upcoming Captain Marvel.
Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck are directing the film, that will see Brie Larson take on the lead role. The movie currently has a release date of March 8th 2019, and production is expected to begin late this year, or early next.
It’s clearly too early to ascertain just how sizeable a presence Nick Fury will have in the movie, and Marvel – as you might expect – has kept up its policy of not responding to casting speculation.
