Rami Malek will play Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody – and the rest of Queen have now been cast too…

The long-mooted biopic of Freddie Mercury has for some time now had Rami Malek cast in the lead role. And with filming on the verge of beginning, the news has come that the rest of Queen have now been cast too.

Gwilym Lee will play Brian May in the upcoming movie, with Ben Hardy (of EastEnders and X-Men: Apocalypse fame) taking on the role of Roger Taylor. Joseph Mazzello (remember him as Tim in Jurassic Park?) will be John Deacon.

The film is going by the name of Bohemian Rhapsody, and it’s being directed by X-Men helmer Bryan Singer. He’s going to be working off a screenplay by Anthony McCarten.

Filming on the movie is set to begin shortly, and the film already has a Christmas 2018 release date earmarked. Expect to hear more about it in the months ahead…
