The premiere episode of The Flash season 4 seems to be going by the title The Flash Reborn…

The Flash season 4 premiere

Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen landed himself in a bit of a pickle at the end of The Flash season 3 – he’s currently trapped in the Speed Force, atoning for his Flashpoint sins. It’ll be interesting to see how The Flash season 4 deals with the fallout of that.

Today, we have a nugget of news that may prove to be significant. CBR is reporting, based on a since-deleted Tweet from the show’s production office, that the season 4 premiere now has a title: The Flash Reborn.

Does choosing The Flash Reborn as a title suggest that Barry will be plucked from the Speed Force and given a new lease of life in season 4 episode 1? We’ll have to wait and see.

There’s a fan theory afoot, as well: what if Barry stays in the Speed Force for a while, and Keiynan Lonsdale’s Wally West becomes the main version of The Flash? That would be a rebirth of sorts, you could argue, for the show itself.

The Flash season 4 story

Also, here’s a fresh synopsis for The Flash season 4…

Running up against an evil time remnant version of yourself is something no one should ever have to do, but that’s exactly what faced Barry Allen (aka The Flash) as he fought to save the life of fiancée Iris West from the God of Speed known as Savitar. Barry’s victory was short-lived, however, as an unbalanced Speed Force began to wreak havoc on Central City, forcing Barry to sacrifice himself for the greater good. With The Fastest Man Alive now trapped inside an extra-dimensional energy, and unknown dangers lurking in the shadows, it will be up to Team Flash to free Barry from his own personal Hell.

The Flash season 4 release date

The Flash season 4 episode 1 will air on The CW, in the USA, on Tuesday the 10th of October. We’d expect the UK broadcast, on Sky, to be roughly a week later.

We’ll bring you more news as we hear it.
