George Clooney directs from a Coen brothers screenplay – here's the first trailer for Suburbicon…

Working from a script by the Coen Brothers (that he and Grant Heslov also contributed to), George Clooney’s new film as director is a dark comedy by the name of Suburbicon.

It’s got quite a cast, too. Matt Damon, Julianne Moore and Oscar Isaac lead this one, and the first trailer for the movie has landed. That, and an official synopsis.

Here’s the trailer first…

And the official synopsis for the movie reads as follows…

‘Suburbicon’ is a peaceful, idyllic suburban community with affordable homes and manicured lawns… the perfect place to raise a family, and in the summer of 1959, the Lodge family is doing just that. But the tranquil surface masks a disturbing reality, as husband and father Gardner Lodge (Matt Damon) must navigate the town’s dark underbelly of betrayal, deceit, and violence. Suburbicon is this Autumn’s much-anticipated dark comedy, with a fantastic cast also including Julianne Moore, Oscar Isaac and newcomer Noah Jupe.

Suburbicon is due in cinemas on November 24th. We’ll have more on it closer to the time…
