Horror and fantasy's finest film festival returns to London in August. Passes are on sale, and the programme has been announced…

From August 24th to August 28th, the 18th horror and fantasy film festival – FrightFest – will be returning to London. It’s going to be running across five screens at the Cineworld on Leicester Square and the Prince Charles Cinema just around the corner from it.

The official announcement of just what to expect at Horror Channel Frightfest has been released too, and there are 64 films in all, including 20 world premieres.

Just to give you a flavour, the opening night film is the eagerly-awaited Cult Of Chucky, the new Child’s Play film from writer/director Don Mancini. He’ll be there in person, along with stars Jennifer Tilly and Fiona Dourif.

We’re also getting the world premiere of Leatherface, the prequel to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and Adam Green will be presenting a never-before-seen version of Hatchet.

Adam Wingard is back too, for the European premiere of Death Note, whilst the closing night film for the festival is Tyler McIntyre’s Tragedy Girls, billed as a mix of Heathers and Scream. Alexandra Shipp and Brianna Hildebrand star in that one.

Festival passes are on sale from the minute this post goes live, and you can get them at http://www.frightfest.co.uk/tickets.html

Single tickets for individual films will be available from Saturday 29th July at 9am.

The full programme can also be found at http://www.frightfest.co.uk/tickets.html.

We’ll have a lot more on Horror Channel FrightFest in the month or two ahead.
