It’s the news Fannibals have been waiting for – Bryan Fuller has revealed that fresh conversations about Hannibal season 4 are finally happening.
“August 2017 is when we can actually start talking about [other options],” Fuller told Collider a while back. “That’s when we would have to see what the rights are for the character and for the story and see who’s interested and how we get it done. I have the story, and the cast is excited for the story, so we’re ready to go if somebody wants to go.”
Well, he’s a man of his word and no mistake. Fuller took to his Twitter account yesterday to confirm that new talks are underway to make a fourth season of the show a reality….
“Conversations couldn’t start until 2 years after the final airing of season 3” he informed an inquisitive fan. “[Martha De Laurentiis] has started those conversations. This takes time.”
Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit. No..no Hannibal…it’s just a saying…I didn’t mean it…arg!
NBC’s Hannibal was inspired by Thomas Harris’ novels Red Dragon and Hannibal, and Jonathan Demme’s classic slasher film Silence Of The Lambs. The series starred Mads Mikkelsen as forensic psychiatrist and grisly gourmand Dr. Hannibal Lecter and Hugh Dancy as FBI special investigator Will Graham.
Fuller, who is currently showrunner on Starz’s American Gods, has always thought it would be a shame to let the series go.
“The cast is game, I’m game,” he said after the show’s cancellation. “It’s just a matter of finding the right time where everybody’s schedules sync up, but I would love to continue to tell the story with Hugh Dancy and Mads Mikkelsen. They’re such a fantastic collaborators and one of the most satisfying actor-showrunner relationships I’ve ever had in this industry. So I would love to continue this story.”
