Simmering tensions seem to underpin the delay of Fast & Furious 9 by a year…

Yikes. Things behind the scenes of the Fast & Furious movies don’t seem to be on the happy side, following the announcement last week that Fast & Furious 9 has been put back a year to 2020. And Tyrese, one of the main members of the ensemble cast, is in little doubt where the finger should be pointed.

In an Instagram post, Tyrese says of Dwayne Johnson that “you broke up the #FastFamily”. He added that Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, original director Rob Cohen, Roman Tej and himself were offered a Fast & Furious spin-off film but “we turned it down”. That’s presumably a swipe at Johnson and Jason Statham’s upcoming spin-off, that now looks to have taken the 2019 release slot originally earmarked for Fast & Furious 9.

Here’s the Instagram post…

Johnson, meanwhile, posted the following to Twitter…

And then Vin Diesel added a few words, to try and put out the flames…

Family no more, perhaps? We’ll see. But all doesn’t seem to be too well in Fast & Furious land…
