Last Christmas will pair the Mother Of Dragons with Henry Golding

The crazy rich success of Crazy Rich Asians (currently $188 million worldwide), has opened a plethora of opportunities for co-star Henry Golding, who made his onscreen debut in the film. According to THR, his next move will be to spend Christmas with the Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons, Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke.

Clarke and Golding will headline a new holiday-themed rom-com called Last Christmas from director Paul Feig, the man behind Bridesmaids, The Heat, Spy, Bad Teacher, Knocked Up and the Ghostbusters remake, as well as a fair bit of The Office, Arrested Development and Nurse Jackie. Feig will work off a script by Emma Thompson, the Oscar-winning actress, who wrote the screenplays for Bridget Jones’s Baby and the Nanny McPhee films.

While plot details about Last Christmas are unknown, the film will reportedly be set in London. The film will also be Clarke’s first post-Game of Thrones role, with the HBO fantasy series set to bow out sometime in 2019. Of course, Clarke has been building her big screen profile for years already, having starred in the likes of Solo: A Star Wars Story, Terminator Genisys, Voice From The Stone and previous British-set rom-com, Me Before You.

For Golding, Last Christmas will already be his second time working with Feig – having just finished Feig’s A Simple Favor (out in the UK this week) alongside Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively.

There’s no word yet on when to expect Last Christmas, but December 2019 sounds like a pretty safe bet.
